Wellness Wednesday

Hello all! Its HUMP DAY!!

I want to show you something I found last night while trolling on twitter.*don't judge me, we all scroll and don't post anything from time to time* O_o

Ok, so here is what I found...
Breakfast: Egg White Omelet w/ Colorful Bell Peppers and Onions
3 Slices of Bacon (yes, you can have bacon!)
1 slice of cinnamon raisin toast

This is a pic of my husband (follow @mrkingkong0307) breakfast most days after his P90X workouts. Might talk him into doing a cooking video one morning. We will see...we look rough in the a.m. He is on an overall wellness track as well as myself. Our workouts are different, our methods of recording our progresses are different but one major thing is generally the same:  DIET.

Now, when I say diet I using the word as a noun...this is quite different from what most people mean when they use the word as a verb. Let's look at the difference...

di·et

/ˈdī-it/
Noun
  1. The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.
Verb
1. Restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight.

Want to know the nutritional value of the breakfast pictured above...

The reason I'm posting this today is because Wellness Wednesdays are about overall "Wellness" and diet plays a large role in obtaining it. I make most of our grocery lists, plan the recipes and cook most meals but we both go to shopping together. It keeps each other focused. Helps to limit unhealthy or unnecessary items from getting into the cart and finally getting into your stomach!

I'll share more about our diet and some common items that we are currently eating and some items that we plan to eventually lose. Eating certain things is still habitual but our taste buds are changing. Our "taste" and what tastes good will continue to change with time as well progress. I just wanted to share this with you all to know that you can still eat "real" food and see progress, whatever that progress may be! I'm constantly looking for modified recipes, new vegetables to try, new techniques of preparation, new herbs and spices I wouldn't normally use...it has helped me to slowly modify our diet, thus maximum our results within our individual weight loss goals.

If you would like to log what you eat similar to the picture above, a good place to look into that both my husband and myself use is www.myfitnesspal.com Its free and has a community of people doing something similar. My name there is NaturallyRandom

So, as my friends at MFP (myfitnesspal) say: Happy Logging!!

Talk to you later Lovelies!!!
