Breast Cancer Awareness
Hey Hey Y'all!!
You know what I realized? Its the middle of October and I missed the local "Making Strides" Breast Cancer Awareness walk!! I was quite upset about it. Let's blame the hiatus on that! Last year was the first time I'd participated in this 5K Run/Walk and I absolutely loved it! I wanted to take some time to talk about why I was upset that I missed this event. Over the years, my peers, sorority sisters and husband have always supported and participated in philanthropic or service related deeds. Community service and support is something that has always been important to me. Due to this importance and my connection to some survivors, I couldn't believe I missed the registration deadline!!
Although I wasn't able to participate this year I did want to use the platform of this blog to bring some awareness about this disease! Although 1/2 the month has past, I wanted to do something to initiate some discussion on this topic!
If you walked, tell me why you walked? Was it for yourself, for a friend or loved one?! I do not suffer from this particular affliction but I do understand the magnitude of devastation can cause on a family (survivors and deceased).
So I've decided to do what I can through Ms. Naturally Random but I need your help! With the help of a few sponsors I am going to host a giveaway contest for the remainder of the month in support of #PinkPride.
