Mini Life Update | Building a Better Me

Making mistakes is better than faking perfection. Remember to keep shining. 💛

Hello Lovelies,

I've been holding off on doing this but the marathon is real 🏁

It's #TransformationTuesday and I have a little announcement. The word "journey" is overused and cliche but I think it applies to this situation.

The Announcement

I've lost 25+ lbs in the last six months.

I did something different for once and took some time to acknowledge my accomplishments. So I asked myself, are you really grasping what you've done so far? So I went outside and took a few pictures of myself.  Those jeans are only being held up by a belt and that t-shirt is laying a little flatter on the body. Come Through Waist! That is not as easy as it should be and I'm working on that. I tend to mention my small victories on my Instastories but if you don't follow me on Instagram, those disappear in 24 hours.

My Goals

• Maintain a low-carb, keto-leaning eating regimen.

• Moderate exercise 4+ days a week.

• Mitigate joint pain, PCOS hormonal issues, and aim at overall longevity in this one body I've been gifted.

I'm slowly feeling a little bit healthier and a little bit stronger - that’s my new reality. I like to take a moment and put extra emphasis on "little bit". I still have #StruggleBus days. Sometimes the bus struggle lasts for a week at a time! *cough, cough, thanks uterus*

I fall off from time to time and I think that is ultimately part of the process. Just remember, progress is progress! Align your actions with your goals. Sounds simple, right? It can be if we let it. We all have a tendency to over complicate things. Through the last 6 months, I've tried to get better at identifying when I'm over complicating and pivot back to basics. I'd that means I do hardcore fast and only eat OMAD (one meal a day) to kick my body back into ketosis, then so be it.

Keto Reboot Egg Fast

After a long-stretching plateau, I decided to do reel back my meal planning to the simplest terms. I embarked on a 3-Day Egg Fast and chronicled the results on Youtube. Eggs, cheese, healthy fats, water, and will-power.

If I can do this for me, it might be possible that a low-carb eating plan coupled with intermittent fasting and moderate exercise can do it for you too. If that's what you desire and you have any questions, let me know in the comments. In the meantime, I have a few resources that could help you get started. Check out my Keto Pinterest Board for inspiration.

Remember, take time to recognize your accomplishments. Comparison to others can be the theft of joy. Always keep going, even slow movement is a forward movement! 🙌🏾

Takeaways

• It's ok to be content with yourself. — It's ok to want to be better.

• Be encouraged that your life as a gift.

• Transformation your mind is harder than transforming your body.
