Wow...I've been gone for a minute

So to my 3 readers...I've been missing for quite some time! Well as most new year resolutions go...I fell off the bandwagon. Like crashed, rolled in dirt, scraped knees, elbow, shin and face type fall!

Some things have happnened during that time...I got engaged to Sir. Wedding planning is in full swing and we are doing everything ourselves (tedious but not as time consuming as I thought it would be). Colors, location, wedding party and tentative budget have been darn near completed. Also I took a much needed, well deserved vacation. I spent to QT with Sir for a week near the beach and some QT with my fam in St. Louis, MO. I loved darn near every minute of it. You'd think being surrounded by the eating habits I learned so well would stir me to get back on track but it didn't. I came back to work...back to the daily grind and made excuse after excuse of why I couldn't make a healthy lunch, cook a healthy dinner or exercise consistently.

Well TODAY, a co-worker mentioned she was going to work out today and I said to myself "Damnit self! why aren't you working out today?" Like where did YOUR motivation go? You were the person motivating others to lose weight and now you're stalling like everyone else?"

When I got off work...I went to the grocery store (cupboards were bare), cleaned up our kitchen...ate the last of my chinese take out leftovers. I sat for a minute saying to myself "what will be different this time?"

I have decided to attempt a 1600 calorie meal plan for 6 weeks to jump start my weight loss again. If it goes well I will continue for another 6 weeks...from there, we'll see what adjustments need to be made.

I've never been big on measuring portions or meal planning consistently but anything is worth a try. Getting BIGGER IS NOT AN OPTION!!
Where did 1600 come from? Through some research I found http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/caloriesneed.htm. I found that for my height/weight my BMI is 46 (morbidly obese) and my daily caloric intake needed to sustain my current weight is roughly 2660 calories. Livestrong.com suggests to subtract 500 to 1000 calories per day to lose 1 - 2 lbs per week.

I went to MyPlate.gov and figured out what 1600 looked like. Basically how to I eat a balanced diet (incorporating all food groups) with 1600 calories. I could go to Bojangles and blow all 1600 on 1 meal or learn how to spend out those calories throughout the day. I've read all this before but this time a looming date ahead of me that hopefully will push this into overdrive. What am I talking about?
My wedding date doh dohs!

What does 1600 calories means per food group? Grain | Veggie | Fruit  | Dairy | Protein
5 oz   | 2 cups |  1.5c | 3 cups|  5 oz

I am currently working on a meal plan picking items that I like to eat and making a plan that consists of (hopefully) 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. I don't know when I'm going to eat but I'll figure that out before bed tonight.

Just wanted to give you an update on what's going on with me.

Happy Scales to you!
