I'm Your Yeyo [Milestone]

I am embarking on a new journey in life. I’ve done a weight loss journey, a natural hair journey and now…I’m on my motherhood journey! *Side Note* Why must every change in life be referred to as a “journey”? I digress…This is a life changing moment and I’m absolutely enjoying it!
The word “ye yo” (pronounced yay-yo) means mother in the language of the Masai Tribe in Kenya. I was inspired by neo-soul artist Erykah Badu’s song of the same name (click here to listen). It’s a beautiful love letter that documented how Erykah felt while carrying her first child. This post does the same for me. I recently surpassed a milestone of sorts. I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant! Yippie! I am considering this my official “halfway” point!

]Initially, I didn’t see the big deal in documenting my pregnancy. I felt like, “Yes, this is special to me but no need in sharing.” This is often my stance, but not purposely to put people off. Let me explain. Although I run this blog, I’m still getting used to talking about myself. So many people have called, sent text or FB messages to check up on me and I must say guys, I really appreciate it! Y’all checking on “lil ole me”…I feel so special! The pic below is the ONLY pic I've shared so far and it was during a #struggle moment! Should I struggle to tie my shoe or should I just kick really hard so I will not trip on laces?! Needless to say that shoe never was tied that day. LOL \O/

There have also been requests for belly bump pictures! I'm starting to feel like this is “Belly Watch 2014” but I guess I’ll oblige and share! So, I am writing this post to commemorate this milestone and share a few pictures of how Pumpkin (yes, I call the baby “Pumpkin”) and I have come along.

Daddy-to-be and Pumpkin having a moment...

Daddy-to-be was on camera duty, so Pumpkin and I thought we'd include him somehow...
(excuse grainy photo...sigh
Welp, there we are...Pumpkin and I at 20 weeks (5 months)!!

Stay tuned, I promise I'll keep you all updated!

Smoochies!

Talk to you later lovelies,
