30x30 Update: John Legend Concert/OOTD

Yes, this was me as of Wednesday morning. As a kissed hubby off to work, I feverishly completed any necessary domestic tasks. I scoured my closet and drawers for the perfect outfit. I mean, why not?! This is our first date.
Well sort of! It's our first date since Pumpkin's birth. We are totally advocates of #DateYourSpouse. A good marriage takes work and adding children can make that even more challenging yet rewarding. You just have to remember that your spouse was at once just your "sweetie, baby, bae, darling" etc...don't let the feelings that matches those terms of endearment ever fade.

Our duties, Hubby plans entertainment and I find a babysitter. Well we both were successful so off to our date! We had a great time. Marsha Ambrosius (originally of Floetry fame, now a solo act) opened up for John Legend.

Marsha Ambrosius was great for what we heard of her. Now, let me explain...she sounded great (we just arrived late and missed half her set)...whoops! Who knew parking would be so difficult?! We know now! This was our first experience at Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh. We didn't know what to expect.

Now on to the main event...

I was thoroughly pleased with John Legend's performance! You have to give the guy props. He sang his entire set with a four piece sing quartet, zero background singers, a drummer and a guy on bass! I will admit my section wasn't the most enthusiastic during certain sections of the show. Bummer! People just don't understand "call & response"! All and all it was a great night. He performed "So High" (my ABSOLUTE favorite Legend song!) and did so in quite a climatic fashion. So much so that people thought that was the end of the show! lol He came back and ended with the concert's title song and his current baby-making ballad "All of Me".

Outfit of the Day (OOTD)
We're being fiscally responsible and shopped our closets for this date night. We had a habit of trying to slip on something new for each other just for dates...and now a days Pumpkin says "uhhh no!"

Have you been to any concerts lately? Who did you see?

Talk to you later lovelies,

~Shan, Ms. Naturally Random
