Random | 15 Questions about Fall [TAGGED]
So my sister from another mister @CreativelyCoils tagged EVERYONE in a recent post and I took the bait! I mean, this is Naturally Random...what good it is we never get "random" around here, right?! So here is quick 15 question tag related to #RANDOM Fall topics. Since I recently posted our Family Fall Rap-up, I thought these questions would compliment that earlier post well. So, let's dive in!
1. Favorite candle scent?
Hubby and I often debate on scents for the house, if it has any musky notes, I'm going to pitch it in the trash. We recently picked out a few favorites here. It turned out to be a fun night.
2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
Not really a big coffee drinker...so let's move on to Tea and Hot chocolate...No preference really, tea with honey and lemon is normally picked when I'm a little under the weather and hot chocolate when I'm just in the mood to be warmed up.
3. What's the best the Fall memory you have?
I can't think a distinctly "fall" memory related to childhood that could be categorized as best. I had severe allergies throughout late August - October growing up. In young-er adulthood, fall became distinctly related to trips to the NC State Fair. Crisp Air, Candied Apples, Amusement Rides and Amazing Corn!
4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips off winged eyeliner?
Dark Lips! I'm totally into a vampy deep purple lip now! Pictured below is one of my current favorites. Its a NYX lippie. I'd tell you the color but I'm totally too lazy to go look for it right now. Leave a comment if you're interested in the color, I'll find it for you.
5. Best fragrance for fall?
For body, ironically I'm using the same fragrance as the person that tagged me. I've been dabbing on a bit of THE BODY SHOP's Warm Amber Bath Oil after shower. It lasts all day and isn't overpowering. I never really used bath oil's before but I received this as a bday gift from my daughter's sitter. For home fragrances, I actually did a post on this recently. You can check it out here!
6. Favorite Thanksgiving food(s)?
*So yeah...Thanksgiving has come and gone buuuuuut* <---Exactly...BUT!!!! My favorite foods, are normally collard greens and cornbread dressing (some of y'all say stuffing but I grew up calling it dressing). At the dessert table I'm always looking for the apple cobbler. You probably think greens is weird answer but I never make greens myself, so the holiday time is really the only time I eat them.
7. What is Autumn weather like where you live?
I literally just googled the weather forecast for the next 3 days to answer this question because it's kinda erratic this time of year. Today's High 65, Tomorrow's High 71, Following Day 54...see all over the place.
8. Most worn sweater?
It's been unseasonably warm this year...I have to think hard on this one. I think I've worn a few cardigans (unbuttoned). I have been getting a lot of wear out of my favorite ponte knit fabric green blazer, seen here.
9. Must-have nail polish this Fall?
One of my favorite colors to wear this time of year (when I do wear polish because let's be realistic, I don't!) is Essie's Mink Muffs or OPI Over the Taupe - very similar shades! A beautiful brown polish that basically is a everyday nude for me.
10. Football games or jumping in leaves?
Football games! No, I don't frequently attend football games but I totally into Sunday and Monday night game with tons of cider ale and comfort foods on deck!
11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
I would choose skinny jeans! I'm not totally comfortable with leggings (as pants) maybe under a dress but jeans win everytime!
12. Combat boots or Uggs?
I own neither but I've been wanting a combats boots since the trend reappeared a few years ago. I've always love Jodeci boots, or at least that's what we called them in the 90's. *cues music* "Come and Talk to me, my baby!"
13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
No, no and no! Give me products with allspice, clover, nutmeg and cinnamon! All day, everyday!
14. Favorite Fall TV show?
I didn't watch much tv other than Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood due to #Pumpkin! When I did get a grow-up minute to watch tv, I'd binge watch shows like Quantico or The Last Man on Earth on Hulu.
I totally get all in the mood of fall whenever I hear a marching band play Frankie Beverly and Maze "Before I Let Go". Really hearing a marching band play anything because it reminds me that it's football season and HBCU homecoming season! #HBCUPride
