Event | 10 Family Friendly September Events (Raleigh/Durham)

Hey lovelies! Just wanted to pop in and give you a quick post of some Family Friendly local events going on in Raleigh/Durham during the month of September!  
I'm always looking for events to attend and I wouldn't mind arriving with a kid in tow...so here you go!




September 3rd - 5th African American Cultural Festival - Downtown
Description: Annual celebration of African American culture as expressed through art, music, food and community. Over the past six Labor Day weekends, the two day festival has connected diverse people and families from across our region with local, national and international artists, performers, vendors, area business owners, and our local media outlets.

**September 9th - 11th Activate Good's 9/11 Weekend of Service - Various Locations

Description: Grab your friends and #volunteer during this year’s 9/11 Weekend of Service! Service projects are happening around the Triangle on Friday and Saturday, with a commemoration event at The Red Hat amphitheater on Sunday.

September 10th Children’s Business Fair - North Hills Mall


Description: The largest youth entrepreneurship event in America, a one-day event where kids from the Triangle area learn about entrepreneurship through the process of creating and running their own business for an afternoon in a marketplace styled set up.

September 10th The New Pulse FM's Back To School Bash - Crabtree Valley Mall at 12:00PM
Description: Free Annual Back To School Bash including music performances.

September 15th - 18th SPARKcon - Along Fayetteville Street and Cross Streets between Morgan and Cabarrus, 13 East Martin Street

Description: A four-day multimedia design and art conference and takes over various public spaces around the city and fills them with displays and installations in the categories of film, fashion, music, dance and art.



September 17th Crabtree Street Festival - Kids Play Area from 11AM - 5PM

Description: Live music, Kid's play area, also #GoodEats & Beverage Vendors ALL DAY! Also, a fashion Show at 5PM

September 17th North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences BugFest


Description: Enjoy over 100 entertaining displays, exhibits and activities — both inside and outside the Museum. You'll be given opportunity to interact with entomologists and other scientists so you can continue learning about the fascinating world of bugs.



September 24th Wake County Storytelling Festival - Historic Oak View County Park


Description: Three renowned storytellers are set to perform. There will be Lawn seating, so bring a blanket or chair. Free to all ages. Plus there will a wagon shuttle, activity tents and good eats vendors.

September 29th Apple Day, State Farmers Market

Description: Special promotions planned for different commodities during the peak of their individual growing season.
