Beauty | Why I Hate Hair Tutorials

I've not worn my hair chemically straightened since mid-2007. So I've watch my fair share of hair tutorials. Back in 2006 and 2007 I remain glued to YouTube! The natural hair addiction begin!

Well, I get many questions about my hair when I'm out and about. Someone suggested, "since you get so many questions you should talk about your hair in videos." Sounds like good advice right? Well after watching so many of the lovely natural hair mavens & gurus, I thought making videos would be simple. Oh how much farther from the truth could there be?

Editing is the bane of my existence!! I stepped into this new hobby with the presumption that you sit down hit record and that's it! Taking on this task is not as easy is the pros make it seem. So a few years ago, I came to terms with the fact that....I hate hair tutorials! Well making them anyway! Lol

I began reflecting on this topic by someone asking about my #ThrowbackThursday (#tbt) pic I posted on Instagram today.Yes, its all my hair but no, I didn't create a tutorial for it.

Many of my hairstyles are made up on the spot. Also, due to the length of my hair, when that last straw is about to break the camels back...I have to call in the cavalry (my hubby or a nearby sorority sister). They are often there to hold a section of hair in place as I detangle or pin another. My Life...boy I'll tell ya!

I've only completed one video and even it needed a little help.

For now, you'll have to deal with pictures. Lol!
The closest we'll get is Flipgram! Lol
Oh, want to see the picture that inspired this post? Sure you do!

Do you think I should post more videos, similar to "Simple Hair" video above?

Talk to you lovelies later,

  2. Hey thanks for the follow! I decided to go natural just out of sheer curiosity. I can't remember if I wrote about it or not. In the beginning, I had relatively healthy relaxed hair but just started to admire a lot of the natural women on my campus when I was undergrad.

I would like to go natural but don't know if I'm brave enough :/ Thanks for connecting on Bloglovin & Twitter, let's get connected on all our social media platforms too? When you get the chance let's connect on GFC and Instagram too? xx
