Style | Target: Bullseye You Got Me!

Soooooo Target I see that you guys have drop the new bomb on a today.
Let me tell you a quick story first! I started shopping at Target clothing in the early 2000. At that time, I was bordering on the physique of a big girl that can fit straight sizes. So I really wasn't concerned with what they offered in their plus size department. All I knew was that I could always find something appropriate for whatever event I needed at Target.

It wasn't until recent years (as my clothing size increased) that I began to doubt Target as my go-to place to find something quickly to wear . I thought it was just me for a while. I thought all the big girls would buy the clothes as soon as they came out and leave nothing nice for me. LOL!!! Now, you have to understand things from my perspective. In Target, I am almost exclusively a clearance section shopper.

Somewhere within the last few years, Target introduced a new sizing format for their plus size clothes (sizes ranging in 1, 2, 3, 4). The clothing seemed to be marketed to a more youthful clientele which would be my demographic at the time. But even with that, I would still be disappointed at times. Now don't get me wrong, some of the pieces would be great but still Target (for clothing) had lost its luster to me.

So today, while wandering around YouTube, I happened upon a video promoting their new plus size line. I also noticed a few familiar faces. Target in there infinite wisdom had prominent Plus Size fashion bloggers promoting the new line. The bloggers included: Nicolette Mason, Chastity Garner and Gabi Gregg!

Darn it Target, you got me! I'm interested...I'm wholeheartedly interested! It will be called Ava & Viv, a new fashion brand designed specifically for “the plus-size woman who loves fashion.”  I love the pieces that were shown in the short video and I can't wait to see more. Now don't let us down Target, roll out the new pieces in all your stores expeditiously!
