Motherhood | Mommy On The Go: How to Get Out the Door

I have always been the type of girl that has no issue throwing on some jeans & a tee with hair in a ponytail. Nothing changed after having Pumpkin. Well, kinda! What changed is that you may not always feel your best! Life is draining on its own but throwing a kid or two in the mix on top of career, errands and domestic goddessness gets tough. I'll be honest, I've had some really bad days where it looks like my closet threw up on me! All I was concerned with is that my body was covered. I didn't care if it matched, if it was wrinkled, and sometimes it just gets like that. Yet, with a little time and preparation, you'll be able to ditch your hubby's faded hoodie that is cloaking your wrinkled shirt. (Oh. No one else does that? Ha! Me neither)

Here are a few items and tips to always keep on hand and you'll be out the door in a flash feeling fabulous!

Fit is a crucial part of this step. Your old jeans may not fit anymore and you can only wear your maternity pants for so long.
My favorites are straight leg or skinny dark denim jeans.
Tip: Get a trendy pair of jeans that have a little spandex. Whether you're "All about that BASS" or not, a little spandex will hug whatever you got!

Drop those old tattered screen print collegiate tees! Get a few staple tees with a bit of stretch so that they retain their shape after multiple washes. Mix and match and never feel like you're wearing the same thing over and over.
Tip: Not a plain tee kinda' girl? Go for florals, stripes, polka dots, whatever you like! Have fun!

Tons of moms opt to just stuff a small purse inside of the kid's diaper bag and get on with your day. I'm a fan of colorful/patterned wallets. Even if it is stuffed in the diaper bag...it's all mine when whip it out and make it rain at Target! lol Or you could throw on a nice watch or a few bangles. Accessories always make me feel like I put forth some effort while getting dressed. Even if its just earrings.
Tip: Keep your favorite "wear with everything" earrings in your purse. Even if you're rushing, you can put those on in the car.

Well I ditched the high heels prior to motherhood but some of us, we still like to wear them from time to time. That is okay as well. When you are trying to get out the door and have a million errands to run, I think a nice trendy flat will suit the bill just fine! Being taller is overrated when your entire crew aren't even barely tall enough to ride the tea cups at Disney World.

I read a quote somewhere once that said, "Put on some lipstick and pull yourself together!" For me, that's absolutely true. A pretty lippie always makes me feel better. I always keep little perfume samples and/or lipsticks/glosses handy.

With these small adjustments, you'll be out the door in no time and feeling fabulous while you do it! You're doing a great job Mom and you deserve to look and feel great too! Actually glance in the mirror before you leave the house. It's okay to give yourself a few extras minutes each day. Girl, go ahead, you deserve it!
