What's For Dinner | Swiss & Mushroom Burgers

Tummy rumbles....

Tonight Menu: Mushroom and Swiss Burgers

Want to make this with me?

Serves: 4

What You'll Need:

  • 1 lb of Ground Turkey or Beef (I used Turkey)
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp of Butter
  • Silicone Brush Baster
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Cremini or White Mushrooms (I like Cremini)

Preparation:

  1. Mix Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder and Worcestershire Sauce into ground meat.
  2. Once thoroughly incorporated, form four patties equally sized patties.
  3. On medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of butter in skillet.
  4. Brown patties on both sides.
  5. To create a "grill-like" crisp on patties...apply softened butter with silicone brush baster.
  6. Note: Be careful not to rush this process by turning up the heat, especially if using turkey! It will result in a very dry burger.
  7. Once patties are cooked though (I prefer medium well), remove burgers and allow to rest.
  8. Add mushrooms to buttery goodness in skillet and give them a few extra shakes of Worcestershire sauce. Cover and allow them to soften.
  9. Place mushroom on top of burger patties and for some added flavor, toss on a slice of Swiss cheese.

Plate and serve.

It should look something like this...

And there you have it....Swiss & Mushroom Burgers. These are great paired with sweet potatoes fries or a side salad!
