Family |The In-Law Shuffle

I recently took a trip to St. Louis, MO and it was the first time traveling with Pumpkin without "The Beard". It got me to thinking about how far we've come as a family in such a short time. When sir and I became #TeamFife back in September of 2012, I
was really excited about gaining more family. When I changed my name to Fife, I
knew it was the right then for me. Who knew how this merger (built on love)
would change our lives…oh what adventures await!
Location is Relative
With more family, you have more people to visit (which is a
good thing). My husband and I decided to start our lives in NC (the state in
which we met). We’re not set on staying here forever (but that’s another story
for another day). Neither of us is originally from here so travel is a
necessity to visit loved ones. This is when decisions have to be made. Should
we go here? Where did we go last year? How much will travel cost? How much time
will we need off from work? Etcetera, Etcetera…
It’s sort of a juggling act. We want to be fair to each
other and the in-laws. Now that Pumpkin is here, we want to ensure she knows
both sides of her family. So you can already hear the suitcases being zipped,
we’ll be taking off more often.
